DefiniGEN are an exciting, high growth Cambridge UK Biotechnology Company who aim to become a market leader in the provision of stem cell products and CRISPR gene-editing services to the life science and pharma sectors. DefiniGEN uses its proprietary OptiDIFF production platform to robustly generate human cell types, including liver hepatocytes and pancreatic cells, from Induced Pluripotent Stem Cells (IPSCs). We are currently looking to recruit a talented gene-editing scientist to expand our CRISPR team.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Design, plan and delivery of CRISPR editing projects
  2. Promote and suggest implementation of new methods, technologies and processes to ensure best practice
  3. Keep up to date with the scientific literature and developments in the gene editing field
  4. Provide accurate record keeping
  5. Provide project summaries and reports
  6. Adhere to established quality standards
Essential Skills:
  • MSc or PhD Degree in Life Sciences or extensive, practical experience
  • Minimum of 2 years of working laboratory experience using gene editing plaforms
  • Practical experience of mammalian cell culture
  • Solid background in molecular biology assays
  • Experienced in genome engineering techniques including CRISPR/Cas9
  • Ability to test and implement new approaches and techniques including troubleshooting
  • Use of molecular biology software (e.g. Vector NTI, SnapGene, etc.)
  • Capable of working to a schedule and delivery of a variety of challenging projects at a time within agreed deadlines
  • Ability to work both as part of a team and independently when required
  • Good communication skills
