3D culture model for Non-Alcoholic Steatohepatitis (NASH) drug discovery

NASH is a major unmet medical need which affects up to 5% of the population in the US. Development of therapies is limited by unrepresentative animals models and a lack of alternative in vitro models which adequately capture the complexity of the disease. This model will incorperate multiple cell types, including hepatocytes, stellate, and Kupffer cells into a 3D liver culture system developed by CN Bioinnovations. The project goal is to demonstrate the major features of the disease, namely fat loading, inflammation and matrix lay down on a platform suitable for use by pharma companies at the lead optimisation stage.
